Archer High School – Multicultural Literacy

For Rising Seniors Only. This course focuses on domestic and global literature by and about BIPOC writers. Using a critical literacy lens, students will explore universal 21st-century themes including identity and culture, modern social conflict, injustice and resolution, and diverse, multicultural perspectives. A special emphasis will be placed upon students' development and expression of 21st-century competencies to include critical thinking, collaboration, creative productivity, student voice, and anti-discriminatory mindsets. Students will examine multi-genre literature by comparing/contrasting, analyzing, critiquing, and challenging literary traditions.
