Amos P. Godby High School – EMS1119 Emergency Medical Technician Lecture

This course introduces the role of the emergency medical technician. It is designed to teach students to employ critical-thinking skills, assess a patient scenario, create a plan of care, and implement the plan. Topics include public health, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, patient assessment, airway management, trauma, toxicological and environmental emergencies, submersion incidents, and infection control. Dual enrollment with Tallahassee State College.
Prerequisites: Must be 18 years old or will be 18 by graduation
