Amador Valley High – PE Course 2 – Team Sports

One-semester course. Open to grades 10, 11, 12. Prerequisite: PE Course 1- Freshmen. Course may be repeated for credit. This course is designed to give students the opportunity to learn through a comprehensive, sequentially planned kinesiology and physical education program in accordance with the California Model Content Standards for Physical Education. Students will continue to be empowered to make choices, meet challenges and develop positive behaviors in fitness, wellness and movement activity for a lifetime. This course will build upon the skills gained from PE Course 1. Emphasis is placed on students analyzing skills for effective movement. Units of instruction include team sports, introduction to advanced kinesiology and physical education principles, fitness (including fitness tech
