/ PRINCIPLES OF ENGINEERING (P): One-year course. Second course in Project Lead the Way sequence. Open to grades 10, 11, 12. Students may opt to take the course as honors or regular level. Prerequisite: 2.0 Cumulative GPA, C or better in Introduction to Engineering Design. Meets the recommended third year UC/CSU "D" Requirement for Science. Principles of Engineering (POE) is a high school-level survey course of engineering. The course exposes students to some of the major concepts that they will encounter in a post­secondary engineering course of study. Students have an opportunity to investigate engineering and high-tech careers. POE gives students the opportunity to develop skills and understanding of course concepts through activity-, project-, and problem-based (APPB) learning. Used in
