Amador Valley High – Ceramics 1 (P)

One-year course. Open to grades 9, 10, 11, 12. Meets the UC/CSU "F" Requirement for Visual and Performing Arts. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of hand-built and thrown ceramics. Students will analyze and evaluate their work and the work of others using the vocabulary and language unique to visual arts. Students will study a variety of cultures, from the past to the present and gain an understanding of ceramics within diverse historical and cultural contexts. A lab donation is requested for materials and equipment.
