One-year course. Open to grades 10, 11, 12. Prerequisite: Completion of Art 1. Meets the UC/CSU "F" Requirement for Visual and Performing Arts. Advanced art students will continue their exploration of artistic perception, art production, art history and aesthetic valuing introduced in Art 1. Students will deepen their understanding of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design through structured, academic studies. Students will be expected to apply previously taught concepts in new and innovative ways. The curriculum emphasizes challenging, open-ended artistic problems requiring independent creative thinking.
