Alger B. Wilkins High School – Pltw Digital Electronics Honors

In this foundation Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Pathway to Engineering (PTE) course, students focus on the process of combinational and sequential logic design, teamwork, communication methods, engineering standards, and technical documentation. Digital electronics is the foundation of all modern electronic devices such as cellular phones, MP3 players, laptop computers, digital cameras, and high-defi nition televisions. Art, English language arts, mathematics and science are reinforced. Work-based learning strategies appropriate for this course include mentorship, school-based enterprise, service learning, and job shadowing. Apprenticeship and cooperative education are not available for this course. Technology Student Association (TSA) competitive events, FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), community service, and leadership activities provide the opportunity to apply essential standards and workplace readiness skills through authentic experiences. This course is eligible for Advanced Placement weighting.
