Alger B. Wilkins High School – Sustainable Conservation

The modules in this course engage students in investigating the importance of sustainability for businesses and for people around the globe. The modules explore changes businesses are making to have their products and processes more sustainable, as well as the shift toward fuel sources and technologies that can serve as alternatives to fossil fuels. Students learn why people around the globe are looking at alternative energy sources and the importance of current research into stable and practical sources of energy. Given concerns over the impact people are having on our planet, individuals, governments, and companies around the world are seeking alternative ways of meeting their energy needsalternatives that are cost-effective and sustainable and will not further damage the environment or unduly impact one group of people more than another. Students will investigate sustainability processes and practices and participate in hands-on lab procedures in sustainability combined with a solid foundation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
