Ahrens Educational Resource Center – Life Skills and Independent Living

Comprehensive instruction in essential life skills to promote independence and self-sufficiency. Curriculum covers community safety, travel and navigation skills (including use of TARC public transportation), social interaction and communication, time management, organization, following directions from supervisors, workplace etiquette (signing in/checking in), and independent living competencies. Students build self-confidence and learn to maintain a professional, friendly attitude in various settings.
Prerequisites: Enrollment in Work Transition Program
Grades: 12 / Ages 18-21
