What is your teaching philosophy?
I love getting to meet new clients, discover their interests and alter instruction to meet certainly learning styles and areas of interest!
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
During our first session, we will get to know each other and discuss our overall goal. We will spend some time doing a little pre-assessment so that I can best determine where to start instruction. This will also help me gain a better understanding of certain learning styles and how to accommodate them!
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Through our sessions and time together we will build on your strengths and change instruction to meet those strengths, rather than focusing on struggles, to help you become a more confidant learner!
How would you help a student stay motivated?
All students learn differently. During our first session or two I will be able to determine what helps to motivate you, and I will incorporate work movement breaks, illustrations, and many other strategies into our lessons in order to help you stay motivated! It is also important that the student understands the role they play in achieving the overall goal!
