About Me

I began my academic career in community college; I became inspired to teach others by a Math tutor; as it is for most people, math was a very difficult subject for myself but he showed me that with a little faith and hard work anything was possible. As he did for me, I started teaching my fellow classmates and conducting study groups to demonstrate that all new subjects are difficult but are possible to be learned with patience and a positive attitude. Today I attend Grand Canyon University majoring in Psychology, I have been on the Deans list for a year and will be graduating at the end of this year. I believe that parents, adolescents, and tutors should align themselves with what educational goal each person has for the student and to remember that it takes more than just the students in order to be successful. I have been tutoring with this philosophy for the last 6 years; along side the "No Child Left Behind" act, I have inspired and mentored those of immigrant parents, as well as lower income families, to help both student and parent understand their child's potential. The subjects that I love to inspire others with are English and Math, I believe that there is always more than one way to teach someone and therefore am able to adapt to many different situations and educational levels that I am presented with. I also believe that sometimes it takes more than just memorizing the information in order to actually learn a subject; real knowledge is something that is used in everyday life, problems that arise and are able to be solved right then and there is a quality that not many are able to grasp. This is what I like to show people, that what is learned in textbooks you are able to use in the everyday world scenarios. Aside from teaching others, my outside hobbies include being outdoors, people watching, playing with my animals, cooking, and trying to enjoy every moment that I am given with my friends and loved ones.
