Study Strategies

Rereading and Asking Questions

Go Back and Ask

If something doesn’t make sense, reread the sentence or page. Good readers ask themselves questions like, “Who is this about?” or “What just happened?”

  • Rereading can help you remember important details.
  • Asking questions keeps you curious and helps you understand the story better.

Don’t be afraid to look back or ask for help if you’re stuck!

Examples

  • Rereading a confusing paragraph until it makes sense.

  • Asking, 'Why did the character do that?' to understand the story better.
