Learning New Words

Vocabulary means all the words you know and use. When you learn new words, you can understand stories better and express your ideas clearly.

Ways to Grow Your Vocabulary

  • Read books and notice new words.
  • Ask adults what new words mean.
  • Use new words in sentences.

Context Clues

Sometimes you can figure out what a word means by reading the words around it.

Make It Fun

  • Play word games.
