I graduated from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas receiving my bachelor's in psychology and biology. My future goal is to attain a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at an American accredited dental university. Tutoring has been a part of my journey since I was an undergraduate, volunteering at an elementary school to tutors kids in sciences, English and mathematics, although these are some of the subjects, I am most passionate about human anatomy and physiology, biology, organic chemistry. Learning the techniques and formulas to succeed in education is really important and I will try to do everything to help you achieve your goals. I believe that getting the basics down are one of the most important foundations in education. In my spare time, I try to go to the gym, get engaged in community service and volunteer at the hospital.

I graduated in Dec. 2018 from the University of Nevada, Reno with Honors in Biology, having been an undergraduate teaching assistant and coordinator for genetics for two years, a writing and science tutor for both the departments of biology and athletics, and a research assistant in a lab studying RNA-mediated epigenetics. I am excited to soon begin my doctorate studies in Molecular Biology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and continue exploring the effects of the environment on gene expression.I strongly believe that learning is understanding, and I strive to help my students not only excel in their current studies, but build a system to become independent learners. I have been a teacher in a Title I school for the past 15 years. I taught regents earth science for 10 years, as well as middle school general science for the past 15 years. Additionally, during the summer I taught a two week regents review earth science course. My experience with the earth science regents is extensive as well as my middle school experience.It is a passion of mine to work with students in the earth science curriculum, the middle school science curriculum and help students navigate the online platform. Online learning is much different for students requiring teachers to provide additional resources and more one on one opportunities for students to understand the science content.As an educator, I feel that is important to continue to educate ourselves on a constant basis and not graduate from college and feel we have learned all that is possible. I major in English with a minor in Japanese and I am in the honors college.I serve as the editor of the opinion section of The Rebel Yell, UNLV's student newspaper. In the past I have tutored Spanish and Japanese language students, but I am actually most passionate about English and reading and would love more experience working with students to enfranchise them with the power of literacy. I derive happiness from seeing others grow and contributing to the lifelong process of education, so I find tutoring to be an appropriate outlet for this passion. In my free time, I enjoy reading short stories and writing my own prose.

I love helping students because I believe that everyone can succeed academically. Our weaknesses do not define us, and everyone can work on something they struggle with and be able to succeed. I am a Junior in college, working towards my Bachelor's Degree in History, and then work at my Law degree. I tutor American History, AP World History and Test prep. My favorite subjects to tutor is American History and Chinese History. American History can still be seen in American life today, and China is one of the oldest countries to study. I have a very encouraging and introspective learning style, where I will give students advice to study and perfect their skills, but allow them to think thoughtfully about what they did that did not work and what they should do next time.

I recently graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology and Physiology and I am currently applying to medical school. While at UCLA, I had many great opportunities tutoring and mentoring both children and college students. I volunteered with Kids Korner through which I was able to provide tutoring and mentoring services in an underserved community in North Hollywood, California. I helped children in subjects ranging from math to English to geography. I also led tutoring sessions for college students in a nutrition course and an anatomy course. I would like to continue and help students in subjects they struggle with. I enjoy tutoring a broad range of subjects, but especially science subjects (such as anatomy, physiology, nutrition, life sciences, etc.) and math subjects (such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, etc.). I strongly believe that if a student and tutor work together they can conquer the hardest of problems. As a tutor, I always try to instill the importance of a higher education and its role in a successful future. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a good book, cooking (especially experimenting), crafting, playing tennis, and learning random facts!
