I am a sophomore at UIUC studying agricultural and biological engineering. Eventually, I hope to work on environmental engineering related projects concerning the improvement of ecosystem management and reducing the harmful effects of pollutants in the environment. As an aspiring engineer, my favorite subjects to teach students are math and science. I've been working with kids as a swim instructor and music teacher for the past six years now. As I've begun developing experience tutoring students, my favorite part about helping students learn math and science concepts is teaching them how these different concepts interconnect and later helping them to develop critical thinking skills to work through difficult material.

I am an incoming freshman at Northwestern University, and I will be studying economics and international studies. I have lots of experience in mentoring students individually and teaching in the classroom through being a student intern for a sophomore honors English class. I love working with students who are preparing for tests or college admissions because it gives me an opportunity to impart my knowledge of the college application process to others and empathize with them on all their concerns. I believe that education and critical thinking are key to expanding your horizons and achieving your goals in life.

I am a graduate of Vanderbilt University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and minor in Art. I am currently a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago working towards a Master in Medical Physiology. Since graduation, I have worked remotely for my lab that studies child development and applying to medical school. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about psychology and biology. My previous work experiences have included working as a teacher assistant at a preschool, a residential mentor at a high school academic summer program, and volunteering teaching science lessons in elementary and middle school classrooms.

I am a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am working toward a major in neuroscience as well as a minor in mathematics, and I am on the pre-medical track. I have two years of experience working as a math instructor for students from ages 5 to 15, teaching concepts that ranged from simple shape recognition to complex algebra. In addition, I spent a semester volunteering as a virtual English and Phonics tutor for young elementary school kids in Chinatown, Chicago. Along with math and English, I immensely enjoy tutoring other subjects, such as biology, chemistry, and writing. I am passionate about tutoring students because I enjoy helping others develop confidence in their own academic abilities. I have been teaching middle school and high school students for four years in the suburbs of Illinois, and I was a volunteer English peer tutor in my high school. I tutored Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, SAT, English, Biology, Spanish, and a wide variety of school subjects. I enjoy teaching all types of Math, English, and SAT the most. I also love editing and reading essays. As a kid, I loved writing. It was my way of putting my most genuine self out to the world, and I want to be able to help others do the same. Furthermore, I would love to help students struggling in STEM classes. Many students struggling in STEM classes especially feel that they are not "smart" enough, but the simple fact is that no one is perfect. Everyone has room for improvement, and a little help from someone else can be all it takes. Since I went through high school and a year in college, I love being able to lend a helping hand to younger students struggling with classes or standardized testing. I believe everyone can succeed, and I want to help students reach their potential.

I graduated High School with honors and was involved in a multitude of activities such as Science Olympiad, NHS, and other volunteering organizations. I have tutored in math in the past, and on this platform, I will be tutoring in Calculus, Geometry, and SAT Prep. In my spare time at college, I enjoy cooking, I captain a Dance Team and am involved in a cultural organization.

Looking for an opportunity to help kids of all ages advance in Math!I have 10 years of tutoring elementary math, middle school math, pre-algebra, and algebra I. I have worked about 5 years doing private tutoring. I also have worked about 5 years at a Math Learning Center called Mathnasium, and learned a lot about the math education process in all of this time. Most of the time, math class struggles are due to gaps in learning from previous year's math classes. Math really builds on itself from year to year.My philosophy is to help with any homework that is due, and then spend any remaining time covering concepts from previous years that may need some strengthening. For example...simpliyfing fractions will be difficult if you don't know your multiplication/division facts...so I would work on those topics if simplifying is difficult.For the younger kids, playing a game or two to break up the hour is always a great idea. Using visuals is great for any student of any age, particularly younger ones, so I will always draw/write things out, and encourage students to show all of their work. I will try to make math as fun as it can be!!
