I am a graduate of The University of the West Indies, from which I received my Bachelor of Science in Economics (Major) and Management Studies (Major). I aspire to achieve a Masters in Education (specializing in mathematics), and subsequently to be a Professor of Mathematics.
I am an exemplary master and specialist Senior Mathematics Teacher/Tutor, and Mentor, with over 25 years experience, an unblemished record, and a humble overall success rate of 89%. I mainly guide and inspire students (children and adults), in mostly math related subjects from primary through tertiary level, as well as those pursuing higher levels of education, such as Masters, professional studies (Actuarial Science, ACCA, etc.) I teach/tutor, and mentor basically in all areas and levels of math: Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Calculus, SAT, GRE, etc.
I'm an advocate for the improvement and availability of educational (and other) opportunities to all. I firmly believe education is absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and as such I try to impart this appreciation to all my students.
I always try to apply Philippians 4:13, which states, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," to everything I do. As such, I encourage all students to think positively, work hard, and reap the success of their effort. Anything the mind conceives, can be achieved.
My experience working with students has been truly rewarding and joyful. Regardless of the challenges we encountered (and will continue encountering), we never quit. Quitting is accepting failure, and we don't entertain failure as an option.
Central to my pedagogy is the focus on the needs of the students. I collaborate with students to identify their goals/objectives in order to initiate and/enhance strategies to achieve them. Students learn differently, so at times I have to tailor my methods to meet their needs. I also use interactive session, games, quizzes, etc, to hold interest and encourage learning.
I am passionate about helping students because I strongly desire for each and every student to achieve their goals/objectives, and maximize their potential in order for them to improve their quality of life.
I have no favorite subject/s that I tutor. I really just love and enjoy teaching/tutoring, and mentoring math in general.
I always emphasize to students that I am willing, capable, trustworthy, and will meet their needs, and that we all need to work relentlessly, and together to achieve success.
