About Me

I am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where I achieved membership in the national honor society Eta Sigma Phi for classical scholars who maintain excellence within their field. I am an ancient Greek scholar and I studied at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece for a year on top of my varied studies at the University of Oklahoma. Because I started as a Letters major, my field of study ranges from ancient languages, art and culture to modern philosophy, history and literature. I lived and worked in China and Taiwan for two decades and I speak Mandarin fairly fluently. My passion for teaching isn't limited to any one subject, but my experience is absolutely heavy on the side of English as a second language and specifically reading and writing. I have been teaching for over 25 years now and I am continuing to learn and grow as a teacher. For the past 4 years, I have been exclusively teaching online and I must say that I find this format to be liberating and inspiring! I greatly look forward to working with you or your child and developing a course together that is custom tailored for your personal goals and academic needs. I like to think of myself as a boutique teacher who specializes in personalized courses.
