I am a graduate of Michigan State University, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Russian. Since graduation I've been a part of a research team at Michigan State which is creating an archive of the collapse of the Soviet Union. From this, my education, and my upbringing from living in Russia I have acquired a unique perspective about Russia, and the post-soviet space, that I can give to students. I can tutor students not only in the Russian language, but all aspects of Russian culture, such as history, film, cuisine, politics and more. Other than Russian, I am able to tutor history, as well as political science from my education of my International Relations degree but also because of my passion for history and politics. I hope to bring the knowledge and skills I learned through my education and experiences to students to not only help them succeed, but also discover new passions. I've been helping others since my time at university, where I have helped teach Russian to members of my research team as well as teaching research and other academic skills to members of MSU's competitive Model United Nations team. I believe in working from the student's perspective, meaning seeing their skills and interests. Instead of having the student follow a catch all system, I want to tailor the learning in a way that works for them, and I want the student to enjoy learning the subject material. Outside of academia I enjoy watching MSU sports, creative writing, and spending time with my cat.
