I am a graduate of Wayne State College where I received a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in English Education. While earning my master's I worked as a graduate assistant by teaching composition courses.
I had the opportunity to create and deliver my own curriculum. That experience further encouraged my passion for teaching English. I enjoyed helping the students learn how to write papers and develop skills that they would use for the rest of their college careers.
I also have experience tutoring elementary students. I often created games and contests to help them complete homework. These activities allowed for a lot of interaction and was fun for both parties.
I believe in student centered education and putting the needs of my students first. This means I am willing to try different teaching methods when it benefits the student. The English world is so exciting and I have a passion for helping students find their place in it because with the right guidance, anyone can be a good writer.
