About Me

I've been in the K-12 education field since 2011. I absolutely love working with students and was a classroom teacher for 5 years before transitioning into my role now where I train new teachers. Math is absolutely a passion of mine, probably because my mom was my math teacher from 6th through 8th grade Algebra 1. She had this saying of "if you can't memorize it, tattoo it all over your body," that we all used to laugh about. Well, a few years ago I got really tired of trying to memorize the digits of Pi so I got a Pi tattoo on my right wrist. I'm not a big believer in making math all about the "skill and drill" but instead I really focus on engaging you in the subject and understanding the why behind what you're doing. As a teacher, I would play math games with my students all the time because I really believe learning should be as fun and awesome as you doing whatever dream job you have for yourself. I'm really great at getting results with my students. Consistently, over 80% of my students passed their rigorous end of year state assessments and between 98-100% of my students passed my class. Whether it's math, speech, history, or college entrance exams, I look forward to helping you achieve your own goals and aspirations, one subject at a time!
