About Me

Hello! My name is Matthew, and I am pursuing a degree in mathematics from Gonzaga University. After three years of background in civil engineering, I elected to modify my major to continue my interest in a career in math education. I am from Tacoma, Washington, and love the west side. I believe education and tutoring must be approached from a subjective perspective, working with every student as a unique and dynamic learner. I believe that the student is the root of education, and the role of a teacher or tutor is to supplement the student's drive to help them be as successful as they can be. I also understand that math, as well as many other academic subjects, are not easy to learn or work with at first, and that the challenge is something that, with dedication and the proper support framework, can always be overcome. I love seeing students get excited about new content or a new topic that suddenly clicks, and this reward of success of others is really the driving force in my pursuit of being an educator. I'm looking forward to working with you in the future, and hope to be a part of your educational journey!
