I have been tutoring since my senior year of high school where I worked in the AVID program. I thoroughly enjoy the feeling of passing on information to another student. It is fantastic whenever I see that light-bulb click in their brains. I have extensive experience with essay editing, math tutoring (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus), as well as computer science. I do not believe that there is such a thing as a student who cannot learn or a problem that cannot be solved so long as the student is dedicated and hard-working. I currently attend UMBC, where I am studying to receive my undergraduate degree in Computer Science.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I am a firm believer in the idea that everything can be learned with enough time. Even problems that seem huge can eventually become small if you break them down into smaller and smaller pieces. With enough hard work and motivation, anything can be done.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

It is important to understand what they know and what they think they don't know, as well as their learning style and how they approach learning in general. This will likely involve practice problems or a conversation with the student. After the first lesson, I will make lesson plans which will better allow the student and myself to have an improved dialogue and learning experience.
