I am a PharmD (Doctorate of Pharmacy) student at St. John's University located in Queens, NY. As I will do in the future as a pharmacist, my primary goal as a tutor is to help the community in whatever way I can. All tutors at Varsity Tutors strive to make tutoring more personable and effective. One-on-one tutoring not only benefits the student but it also benefits the tutor. It is evident that both teaching and learning become much more effective this way as well. I have tutored one-on-one before for another independent organization and have found the experience to be enjoyable yet still always educational. My subjects include Calculus I, Pre-Calculus, Algebra I-IV, Arithmetic, and Middle School Math. My test prep includes the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE), High School Placement Test (HSPT), SAT Mathematics, Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT), and Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). When I tutor, I always make sure a student is never confused with anything and that he or she will ask questions whenever needed. I am here to help and know that it is difficult to move on to another topic without fully understanding its preceding topic. Aside from tutoring, I enjoy swimming and baking a lot. I have been an avid swimmer for a charity called "Swim Free" and love to bake during my free time. Overall, I am glad to be part of this community and recognize and abide by my responsibilities as a tutor.
