About Me

My education includes completing a Bachelor's degree in English and a Masters degree in Education with a specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) as well as extensive training in child development and curriculum through the Department of the Army training modules and professional development for Child, Youth, and School Services (CYS).My professional teaching experience includes over over two decades of teaching, the last 12 years specifically in early childhood education for CYS on two military bases, both overseas and in WA state, working with a diverse group of adults and children/youth (0-18 years of age) from all over the world. Current and previous teaching experience outside of CYS includes instructing English, Communications, Education, and Workplace skills for four different colleges/universities, working with adult students to move them toward their educational and career goals successfully. Because of my degrees and experience working with various age ranges from school age children to adult students, I enjoy teaching reading, writing, study and organizational skills. Oh, and I absolutely love to help edit and proofread college application essays or any academic essays really! I have fond memories of tutoring students in the after school club for reading and writing assignments, but mostly I love to see students succeed and grow in their educational endeavors, no matter what age or subject! Currently, I am an adjunct English Instructor and Tutor Center Staff member for Clover Park Technical College (CPTC), and my passion has and will always be to serve students and trainees and help them find and achieve meaningful educational experiences and success as well as develop a love for learning that will support them throughout life, just as it has for me.
