About Me

I am a Baylor University graduate with a Bachelor's of Arts in Religion with a Minor in Child and Family Studies. I moved to Austin after college to serve with AmeriCorps (a domestic version of the PeaceCorps) for Communities in Schools of Central Texas, mentoring and tutoring troubled and impoverished middle school students. I received my teaching certification in Generalist 4th-8th grade and enjoy working with children of all ages. After ending my service with AmeriCorps, I was hired on with Harmony Public Schools as a Math Intervention Specialist, specifically working with middle school kids who struggle with math and the Math STAAR. I am now pursuing my Masters Degree in Social Work at Texas State University, with a focus in School Social Work. My preferred tutoring style is one-on-one because I enjoy creating a relationship with my students and I personally am very much a hands-on learner and teacher. I am a very energetic, bubbly, charismatic individual who has dedicated her life to helping children, both through teaching and social work. However, outside of tutoring, I love the outdoors (playing sand volleyball, kayaking on Lake Austin, hiking the Greenbelt, etc.) and have a big passion for electronic music (both listening to it and creating it).
