I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Early Childhood Research and a minor in Psychology along with completing a pre medical track. I have studied and found a great interest in psychology and counseling but I also have much experience with the natural sciences as I did study, prepare, and take the MCAT. Studying has always been something I have enjoyed and learning new content excites me. I hope to pursue my Masters degree in the field of Psychology.My goal is to encourage learning and find successful ways to help students process and understand the material at hand. I have a love for assisting individuals in achieving their goals, finding a love for learning, and being an encourager to those around me.

After graduating with my MA in Latin from the University of Michigan, I found myself in unfamiliar territory. I had been a student my entire life, and suddenly, I was not. My eventual goal was (and still is) to earn a teaching certificate, but that is still a ways off. What else could I do? An idea hit me.Just because I am not a student anymore, however, does not mean I can't still dedicate myself to learning. There is no better way to do that than to help others learn too, and that is, most of all, what I want to do.I hope you, too, will learn with me.

It's a pretty small town, so we've probably crossed paths at some point at the farmers market, at the monthly Free State Story Slam, or on an outdoor basketball court. I am a college student working toward my Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Kansas. I have attained my Associate of Arts from Johnson County Community College. My favorite subject to tutor is math because it is a language that we use to interpret what happens around us. That is why it becomes really important to excel in math skills as its applications are endless. I enjoy the process of helping students because understanding math is not only about understanding math. It is also about applying that math in real life. My approach to helping you get there is first to make sure that you understand the concept behind the subject matter. Then, we will work on practice problems to see how that concept can be applied.

I taught swimming lessons when I was in high school. I am available to tutor German I and II and the ACT. I like to tutor German because I love the culture and the language (and have visited Germany twice).My style of tutoring is more laid back, but I like to focus on areas that students have a particularly hard time.Outside of academics, I am an outdoorsman. I am an Eagle Scout, and so I enjoy backpacking, camping, canoeing, and generally being outside.Auf Wiedersehen!

I attended high school in Kearney, MO and I am currently attending the University of Kansas working toward a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Pre-Med emphasis. I have done personal tutoring during my high school career, primarily in math and science. Also, through a volunteer project I did some tutoring in other subjects such as English and History. Anywhere in the sciences is what I really enjoy tutoring and have the best grasp of the content, biology specifically because I have taken a plethora of biology/pre-med classes and have found my passion in that field. I think the major focus of any tutoring session has to be focused around knowledge AND habit retention. Not only should the student learn the content, they should also learn how to continue delving into the subject and develop strong study/homework habits specific to the subject. Each subject has to be approached in a unique fashion to tailor the session to the needs of the student. Outside of school, I enjoy watching sports (of course I'm a little partial to the Jayhawks, Royals, and chiefs), reading, video games, and also trying to work in some volunteer work in the local area. Overall, each session should be entirely about helping the student attain success in the subject by teaching them in a fashion they can understand. I never liked teachers who had a rigid learning approach; it is well known not everyone learns in the same fashion and I believe that all students can improve their academic success if they can find what works for them.
