My goal as an educator is to promote a lifelong love of learning.

I am a lifelong learner hoping to inspire other learners! I primarily teach Spanish but have experience teaching English Language Learners as well.

We can all learn. Struggling only means success feels greater and I know what it was like to struggle. I was able to learn when others said I could not. I am here to help you in any way possible. I have had significant training in Common Core State Standards, rigorous math training and Close Reading strategies. I have training directly from top educators including Mike Fisher, for Close reading and Annette Brinkmen in small group instruction. My goal is to help every student be successful.

As an educator my passion is to help students overcome their fear, struggle, and difficulty with mathematics. I see the struggle and I dealt with it myself as a student. My passion is building confidence in students while helping them to make sense of the mathematics.

I am an educator who believes in student-centered learning.I got my start teaching when I tutored students at a University Writing Center as I was earning my M.A. in English Rhetoric. I continued teaching as a long-term substitute at a preparatory school after that. I enjoy being part of a process that engages students in the subjects they love, and teaching them to love subjects they haven't learned to find appreciation for quite yet.I currently teach language classes for a well-known company as well.

I believe that a proper education is crucial in this day and age for all students. As a tutor, I hope to help my students ensure that they fully understand all of their course material so that they are set up for academic success.

I am a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in NM. My speciality is in outpatient orthopedic PT and I am an anatomy nerd. I've enjoyed being a PTA clinical instructor.I have a Ph.D. in Microbiology from UW-Madison. I've mentored and supervised several interns and research assistants in infectious disease research.I've taught yoga and breath work for 7 years (with a 20 year personal practice). I am passionate about the benefits of yoga and meditation and am pleased to see mounting experiential evidence thereof.I enjoy teaching to all ages and abilities in the sciences.

For much of my life, I have expressed an interest in sharing my knowledge with others the same way a teacher does for their students. I long to play a teacher/mentor figure in my career in which I transmit knowledge on the subjects I am most passionate about and therefore make an impact on my students and my community.Throughout my career, I have had much experience working with other students in group efforts as well as helping other peers to clarify certain concepts that I understood more easily. I have worked informally tutoring other students, which has helped me gain a better understanding about what students struggle with the most when trying to study Spanish.I graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 2013 and from University of New Mexico in 2017 with my Bachelor's degree in History and Spanish, both with Honors. I take a particular interest in Latin American and U.S. Hispanic history as well as Spanish grammar and linguistics.I tutor Spanish at all levels and various areas of History. Spanish, however, is my favorite subject to tutor because I have luckily had the luxury of growing up bilingual and with the ability to grasp the mechanics of the Spanish language, such that I have developed the mind of a linguist, skills that I am more than happy to share with others.With respect to my tutoring philosophy, I firmly believe that the best teachers teach what they are most knowledgeable about. With that said, to be an effective tutor, it is crucial that I not only share my knowledge but continue to be invested in how the field continues to change as well as the demands on students in learning a language in our modern, globalized world. Furthermore, it is the job of the teacher/tutor to be a guiding a mentor that teaches their pupil the skills needed to teach themselves.Academia is an important part of my life. However, to pursue and continue working in one's niche, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I take much interest in pursuing a fruitful life of virtue and health. I take much interest in caring for the Environment as well as keeping a healthy, active lifestyle. I especially take interest in self-help and entrepreneurship to help me connect with my inner self and live a holistic, satisfying life while making a difference.

Nature is my biggest inspiration and astonishes me with its constantly changing state of being. I love how mathematics can quantify and explain nature, from the microscopic to the macroscopic world. It truly is the universal language of the universe. My appreciation for math and how it applies to nature is the reason I decided to pursue my education in Astrophysics and Mathematics. I love the sky and the Universe it reflects. Especially growing up in New Mexico, where our sky is one of the most beautiful in the world. It is what sparked my interest in Astronomy and Physics. Physics is just the mathematical breakdown of the laws of the universe, from subatomic particles to entire galaxies. If you can learn math, you can do Physics. However, I completely understand that math is very intimidating to people and is one of the hardest subjects for many to learn. When teaching math I like to help people breakdown their mental wall, I just cant do it or I am no good at math. You would be amazed how many students I have had who in the beginning believed math was there hardest subject, then, found out down the road, that they actually had a knack for it. I enjoy helping people learn mathematics and its applications. There is no better feeling then helping people become proficient in a math and physics. I believe if you set your mind to something and work at it, anything is possible, even learning math and physics.

Hello! I am Samantha Crayton. I have taught first grade for several years before deciding to stay home and raise my two kids. I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Education. I have a lot of experience with elementary school aged children and look forward to this opportunity to teach your child!
