I did my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I received my MBA in Healthcare administration at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, MI. I have been involved in tutoring since MSU, where I held a teaching assistant position in the Foreign Language department. In more recent years, I have been working with the Big Brother/Big Sister program, tutoring students within the elementary and middle school age groups. My background in psychology gives me a greater appreciation for the various teaching techniques. Everyone learns differently and whether I am tutoring 5th grade math, psychology, or a foreign language, it is important to adapt to the student's unique way of learning, some of which may be unconventional.I grew up on two different continents (North America and Africa) which has given me very rich and diverse cultural awareness. I enjoy traveling the world and have spent time in places like Japan, Spain, Switzerland and Costa Rica.

I am a student at the University of Michigan studying business and engineering. In high school, I ran a private violin lessons business where I taught young kids aged 5-11. From there, I began to volunteer my time and tutor high school kids in math and science. I cherish these experiences and want to continue to tutor in college. There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing my students improve and do things they originally believed they couldn't.As someone who has worked with numerous kids in the past, I also understand how important it is for students/parents to know that they are working with someone they can trust. I take this trust very seriously and continuously work to improve my methods and strategies. My goals as a tutor is to not only improve the scores of my students, but teach them how to think critically about the problems they receive. This way, my students can not only solve the problem at hand, but also develop the skills to solve similar problems in the future.I scored a composite 36 on ACT, with a 36 in the Mathematics section. I scored a 1550 on the SAT with a 800/800 on the Math section and a perfect Math score on the PSAT as well. I have earned an A in Calculus 1 through Calculus 3 and have also taken Differential Equations(sometimes referred to as Calculus 4).I have taken AP Chemistry, AP Physics C: Mechanics, and AP Physics: Electricity and Magnetism, AP Calculus, earning a 5 on all of those AP exams. If you are looking for a great math and science tutor please contact me!

I am a passionate and creative individual who goes above and beyond for the things and the people I care about in life. Personally, I have found that my true place in life is with youth from urban backgrounds and helping them overcome the boundaries and barriers set before them due to their individual circumstances.I firmly believe that success is determined by ones ability to aide others in their journey through life towards success. Teaching, tutoring, mentoring and nurturing students is what I was created to do and my instruction runs parallel with this belief. As a Graduate of Eastern Michigan University's College of Arts and Sciences and a 2012 Masters of Arts in Education recipient from the University of Phoenix, I have found my place in this world. My goal is to guide students to their place.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology. I just got my Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and working on my Ph.D. I am also getting another Master's degree in Computer Science at the same time at Wayne State University.I believe there is always learning in teaching, so I enjoy helping others with their education goals not only because of improving their level of knowledge but also mine.Since I was an undergraduate student, I've been teaching different subjects to so many students from various age groups, backgrounds, and personalities.I do believe the best way to help students is first to build a strong relationship and then try to see the subject from their perspectives so you can focus the light on the dark parts that are the most needed. It makes the teaching/learning process smooth, efficient, and enjoyable for both sides.I am open to tutoring all the mathematics, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, and computer science-related subjects.I believe the education goal is to search and find our answers to make life better not only for ourselves but all human beings, and in the search for the answers lies the answer.

I have been teaching for more than ten years and am proud to say that I have helped hundreds of students excel academically and prepare for standardized tests. I have a master's degree in education with a specific focus on curriculum development and designing assessments. I lived in Korea for about ten years after completing my undergraduate degree in Korean Studies back in the W. Bush administration. The LSAT plays an outsized role in law school admissions, and it is one of the only factors in the admissions process over which you have a lot of control. Every point can mean the difference between getting into your dream school, target school, or safety school. Even if you get into your dream school, the LSAT score you are admitted with will determine how much, if any, scholarship money you are awarded and how much debt you graduate with, if any.I scored 161 the first time I took the official LSAT. That score is not bad, but I felt I could do better if I could just get a hold of how the test makers designed their assessment. It took a lot of time and effort; I completed and reviewed every official LSAC PrepTest (PT) available-- from PT 1 through PT 92+ --at least once. Some might think this is "too much," but my mindset for tackling test preparation is to do whatever it takes, especially when it could mean the difference between receiving a full ride or having to pay the sticker price. In the end, when I took the LSAT again, I scored 175, in the top 0.5% of all test-takers.Below, I address each of the three section types and my personal experience with them, starting with how many questions I missed on average when I scored 161 and how many I missed on average when I scored 175.Logic Games (AR) [From -10 to -0]I had so much trouble with the logic games (Analytical Reasoning; AR) section. I could not seem to be able to finish all the games in time or consistently get all the questions for an entire game right until I came up with way of containing all the information in a consistent way that allowed me to iterate responses more naturally.Logical Reasoning (LR) [From -6 to -2/-1]With my background in philosophy and logic, I felt comfortable with many of the questions themselves, and my issues stemmed from being able to rule out answer choices quickly and consistently enough to be able to finish the section and stop doubting my answers. Improving on this section involved figuring out how to rule out answers effectively.Reading Comprehension (RC) [From -5 to -2/-1]My issues with RC were similar to LR. I had to find a method to rule out answer choices and interpret how the test makers wanted us to interpret the passage.Whether or not you choose to work with me on achieving your goals, I would like you to know that standardized tests are learnable. This is not an opinion; it is a fact. If you would like to find out how and why and how this relates to your own test-taking experience and outcomes, let's talk about it.
