About Me

I received my Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University, now known as Texas State University. In 2014 I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master of Arts in Special Education. I have spent the last 20 years teaching special education, elementary education, and some high school special education, in some form or fashion. I have substituted, been a paraprofessional, and a contracted teacher. I enjoy teaching for the sake of learning. I love watching the light come on when a child finally figures out a word or solves a math problem. I love when a student can stand up and present a project with confidence and pride that they did a great job. I love learning about other cultures and traditions in other countries. I believe if we can respect each other's differences and not try and change people, we might achieve peace in the world. I also believe that in order for a child to be successful that they need the support of parents and teachers.
