About Me

I am a college student at Truman State University working towards a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's in Education. I absolutely love working with children and have had four years of experience tutoring in multiple subjects including chemistry, geometry, algebra, and English. I worked as a cadet teacher and a tutor during my high school years and was involved in local tutoring programs as well. I am going to be home during the summer months and I am available to tutor almost any time during the week. I can handle anything from elementary math to high school level science. I am strongest in the areas of English, essay writing, and ACT prep and prefer to tutor these subjects but I am willing and able to tackle other subjects as well. My favorite thing to do is to get students laughing while they learn so studying turns into more than an obligation. I have found through my experience that children will be more willing to learn if they are having fun and it makes the experience more engaging for both of us. Outside of school I enjoy reading, swimming, and playing my ukulele.
