About Me

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, with a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Arts in Environmental Studies. Informally, I began tutoring at the ripe age of six - ever since my little sister was born, I have acted as her mentor and guide, both academically and professionally. I have extensive experience tutoring high school students in AP Biology, Honors Biology, and Honors Biochemistry. Last summer, I designed the curriculum and taught a seven-week intensive course on SAT Critical Reading and Writing. As a high school student, I didn't have much luck with my own SAT tutors. I have since taken my own personal experiences as a student and improved my own teaching style. I find that students are able to easily relate to me, because of my age and approachability. It was, after all, not that long ago that I was exactly in their shoes. Last summer, I also served as a college admissions guidance counselor and essay revisionist. I attended USC on a full academic merit scholarship, and had the exclusive privilege to serve on the interview admissions panel for incoming high-performing scholarship candidates. Over the last four years, I've interviewed countless students and read dozens of admissions essays. The experience has given me a unique insight into the college admissions process, and I am happy to extend my advice to the high school students I tutor.
