Observe How Heat Changes Matter

Find different solids (like chocolate, butter, and ice) and see what happens when you warm them gently.

Steps

  1. Place each item on a small plate.
  2. Use a sunny window or a lamp for gentle heat.
  3. Watch and record which items melt, and how fast.

This experiment shows how heat energy can change the state of matter!

Examples

  • Chocolate melts in your hand faster than ice melts on a table.

  • Butter gets soft and runny when left near a warm stove.
