Place Value: The Foundation of Everything Students start by digging into place value — the concept that makes all of math make sense. They'll identify what a digit is worth based on its position in a number (ones, tens, hundreds), and practice moving fluidly between standard form (247), expanded form (200 + 40 + 7), and word form (two hundred forty-seven). These skills aren't just academic exercises — they're the backbone of addition, subtraction, and number sense in 2nd grade and beyond.

Addition and Subtraction with Regrouping This is where students level up.
