I am a PhD student at the University of Michigan, studying social psychology. Before this, I was at Duke University completing a BS in psychology as well as a MS in global health. My research combines the fields of global health and psychology by examining the effects of culture on self-related psychological processes. I hope to continue in academia to become a professor of psychology, as teaching is among my greatest passions.I offer tutoring services in SAT and GRE prep, as well as in grammar, writing, and essay editing. I also provide help with AP Lang, Lit, 2-D Studio Art, Music Theory, and Psychology. I am recent Industrial and Operations Engineering PhD graduate from the University of Michigan working in applied operations research in healthcare. I really enjoy mentoring and working with undergraduate and master students on research, coursework or just navigating college and graduate school. Aside from work, I enjoy anything water related in the summer (e.g., swimming, tubing, paddle boarding) and winter sports such as skiing in the winter. I also am a big fan of obstacle course races like Spartan race or Tough Mudder! Bush administration.The LSAT plays an outsized role in law school admissions, and it is one of the only factors in the admissions process over which you have a lot of control. Every point can mean the difference between getting into your dream school, target school, or safety school. Even if you get into your dream school, the LSAT score you are admitted with will determine how much, if any, scholarship money you are awarded and how much debt you graduate with, if any.I scored 161 the first time I took the official LSAT. That score is not bad, but I felt I could do better if I could just get a hold of how the test makers designed their assessment. It took a lot of time and effort; I completed and reviewed every official LSAC PrepTest (PT) available-- from PT 1 through PT 92+ --at least once. Some might think this is "too much," but my mindset for tackling test preparation is to do whatever it takes, especially when it could mean the difference between receiving a full ride or having to pay the sticker price.In the end, when I took the LSAT again, I scored 175, in the top 0.5% of all test-takers.Below, I address each of the three section types and my personal experience with them, starting with how many questions I missed on average when I scored 161 and how many I missed on average when I scored 175.Logic Games (AR) [From -10 to -0]I had so much trouble with the logic games (Analytical Reasoning; AR) section. I could not seem to be able to finish all the games in time or consistently get all the questions for an entire game right until I came up with way of containing all the information in a consistent way that allowed me to iterate responses more naturally.Logical Reasoning (LR) [From -6 to -2/-1]With my background in philosophy and logic, I felt comfortable with many of the questions themselves, and my issues stemmed from being able to rule out answer choices quickly and consistently enough to be able to finish the section and stop doubting my answers. Improving on this section involved figuring out how to rule out answers effectively.Reading Comprehension (RC) [From -5 to -2/-1]My issues with RC were similar to LR. I had to find a method to rule out answer choices and interpret how the test makers wanted us to interpret the passage.Whether or not you choose to work with me on achieving your goals, I would like you to know that standardized tests are learnable. I recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics as well as a B.A. in Philosophy. This fall, I will be continuing my studies at the University of Michigan as I pursue a PhD in Economics, and I hope to work as a professor in applied microeconomics after completing my degree. In today's world, learning a foreign language is not only beneficial, but it's a necessity. A lot of students look at learning a language as "extra", and sometimes as a chore, but it's a skill that will benefit them for years to come.It's important to get to know what motivates a learner and what interests them to find out how those things might assist in their learning process. I like to spend the first time meeting with a student to find some ways to spark their interest and show them what learning a language can do for them. The wonderful thing about learning a language is that it can be catered to any topic or interest!

My BA came from John Carroll University and is in English and teaching. My Masters in the Art of Teaching came from Madonna University and is in Learning Disabilities. I have taught high school and middle school English and special education. Therefore, I am experienced in working with students of all abilities.My favorite subject to teach is English Language Arts, though I work with students oral subjects. Helping students to succeed in academics and life goals is my main motivation as a teacher. I greatly value summer enrichment. I like to ensure students learn the material by working hard, yet look at each student as an individual who may need different ways of learning and different levels of support. Some students are shy, some are outgoing; some are academically driven, and some are interested in other things.
