My name is Seth and I am an instructor of Chemical Engineering at New Mexico Tech. I also tutor high school math and science at several area high schools.I left an industry job in semiconductors to work with students, and I have not regretted it once! I love teaching and tutoring.I am also a technical writer for several engineering publications, such as Automation Control and GlobalSpec.

I graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2015. I received my Master of Arts in Spanish Literature. Since I graduated, I am a teacher and I give private lessons to people who want to learn Spanish. With this experience I have a firm belief that teaching needs a change and I am working on it. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, hiking in the mountains, and playing board games.

Having graduated from Lipscomb University with my bachelor's in Computer and Electrical Engineering, I have several years of experience studying and implementing engineering and mathematics concepts. While in college, I worked with students in various subjects, including physics, college algebra, calculus, chemistry, and engineering-specific courses. I love to tutor mathematics and physics, for it is in these subjects that the foundation of engineering is built upon. I also enjoy teaching problem solving to students! I have a passion for helping others understand material that is difficult or foreign to them, and I work hard to try and make the time I have with students meaningful and effective. I am currently a graduate student at Vanderbilt University pursuing my PhD in Electrical Engineering. My hobbies include singing, gardening, playing piano, and computers/robotics.

I spent the last two years of high school and all four years of college tutoring French. I have experience living and teaching in France, Russia, and Estonia. Having worked with students as young as 2, high schoolers, college students, and a wide age range of adults, I am adaptable to a variety of learning techniques from mathematical linguistic formulas and scientific charts to drawings and games. I have always found teaching to be incredibly rewarding. I am a recent computer science graduate. I am very friendly and outspoken. I am fluent in Java, C++ and a little JavaScript (NodeJs). I can help out on projects, homework, or any computer science related problem you might have.

My passion all started when I helped children who had developmental disabilities learn social skills and master daily tasks. Working with these population sparked my love and passion for teaching and helping students who may struggle in certain areas. My passion is to assist individuals reach their full potential no matter what challenge. My tutoring style will consist of me figuring out your learning style (which I find so important) while being patient and flexible. I want my students to feel comfortable and come as they are.Now a little about me. I received my bachelors in science with a major in psychology and a minor human development and family studies from Purdue University. It hard to choose but my favorite classes in college were clinical psychology, abnormal psychology, child psychology, and atypical child development. After graduation I started my masters at Ball State to become a board certified behavior analyst in order to keep working with children who have developmental disabilities. During this summer I decided that this track wasn't for me anymore. As I love and thrive in the academic environment I decided that I wanted to still obtain a masters degree in the near future. My current plan is to become a elementary teacher because I want my future students love school as much as I do.Lastly, in my spare time you can find me doing all things outdoors (especially rock climbing) with my fiance and friends as well as reading my huge collection of books.

I believe Art is Medicine and have created a series of art exercises that are usable by anyone to help cope with challenges and change our views of things , educating our brains to new possibilities. All of which require no art ability and are fun to work with.I center in the collected ways of being which are me. My Journey here is to Empower Women and All Beings I connect with. Life is a constant exploration of my HeartPath. I seek teachings in my roadblocks, then let my art and Magic express them. I walk with one foot in the physical world and one in the spiritual, exploring the use of energy in a quantum way. My teachings and my path come from the years of study with Wise Women, especially the Sisterhood of the Shields and Lynn Andrews. Laura Hollick, Merlinda Arnold and Shiloh Sophia McCloud. I studied for my bachelor's degree at Harvard University and my master's at the University of Denver and Yale University. I studied primarily social sciences and economics, though I always took math courses when I could fit them in. I have always loved math, and am currently taking Calculus II at our local community college as a review and to help me keep on top of my game.I have tutored many different students, both in Albuquerque, New Mexico and in North Carolina. I spent 15 years homeschooling my two children (one of whom is now in graduate school and the other is now in college at UNM). I taught developmental math for 5 years (from integers up through Algebra II) at a community college in North Carolina. I have tutored math, mostly algebra, for 4 years.I use a variety of approaches to teach math concepts, depending on the student's learning style. I love meeting new students and work to tie problems in with their interests.Teaching one-on-one is my favorite way to teach. I love figuring out what kind of method will work best teaching my students. I also love math!
