I always want to do the educational work, because in my opinion sharing the knowledge with others is a AWESOME thing in my life. I received my Bachelor of Polymer Sciences and Engineering and continued my PhD life in Physical Chemistry in Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Then I came to University of Massachusetts Amherst as a Postdoctoral with a focus on Organic Photovoltaic and Electron Microscopy.During my college time, I have been a 2 years tutor of High School Chemistry As a graduate,I tutored the operation of Chemistry lab instruments. Since graduation, I reviewed several Chemistry scientific papers and posters. For me, Chemistry is not only my major but also an old and good friends who have been accompanying with me more than ten years. One of my favorite saying is "Chemistry is about change, which is changing our life and our world." In my experiences, Chemistry Teaching is to let your students feel Chemistry is NOT a boring "Ivory Tower" lesson But a interesting and basic science in our daily life.Chinese is my native language. As my view, Chinese has its special beauties, as well as lots of funny relationships with English. So when I teach Chinese, I'd like to help my students open the Chinese adventure.

After taking a bunch of classes in biology, chemistry, and mathematics, I felt confident to help students raise their level of understanding of the material. I graduate in 2013 from Michigan State University with a major in Psychology. After earning my degree I spent the next two years in Canton, MS as a algebra/geometry teacher with Teach For America. During my experience as a teacher and coach I have logged countless hours after school preparing students for the ACT and various math courses. In my free time I love to play soccer, basketball, hike, and go camping. I strongly believe that every child has the ability to do great things, and with our support and high expectations we can expect to see results.

I'm a college student attending the University of Michigan and I'm majoring in chemistry and computer science. I have two years of extensive experience tutoring high schoolers in chemistry and all subjects of the SAT and ACT. I can also say that I understand completely how difficult the process of test prep and high school chemistry can be because I recently survived the whole process myself having taken IB chem and the ACT/SAT in the last 1-2 years and studying and prepping extensively for them. That being said, I'm always super eager not just to tutor students in those subjects, but also to offer the best advice and guidance I can in tackling those challenges as a high schooler and as someone planning for college. I believe it's super important as a tutor not just to spoon-feed answers but to teach how to problem-solve, so I take care to solidify our understanding of the methods to approach a problem. I've also spent years coaching elementary and middle school students in various sports, and have found fulfillment and success working with all age ranges.

I discovered the joy of teaching and helping others when I was in school and working with classmates on the same material. I've found that the material is only part of the learning process. Attending the same classes allowed me to understand the classroom context and help classmates navigate confusing lessons as well as homework and exams. I have successfully taken on this role from elementary to graduate school. Most of the time I did not have an official position as a tutor, but I greatly enjoyed being in an optimal position to set up others for success.I most enjoy math, probability, and statistics because they give you tools that allow you to solve technical problems all by yourself. For example, I build a tool in Excel to give me the odds that I would get a desired card from a card pool in the online card game called Hearthstone. I graduated Michigan State with a bachelor's in statistics and a Master's in Business Analytics to learn how to apply statistics to real world problems.I have had almost all A's throughout my entire academic career. I attribute my success to more than natural ability. I've found that being willing to ask questions to classmates and teachers, putting more time and effort into subjects and lessons that are most challenging, treating each class/teacher as a separate challenge, and breaking down processes are all incredibly important. I think of a new class as a separate game that needs to be understood and respected. Having this flexibility will enable you to take the key steps that will optimize your performance.When I consider artistic performance such as my piano playing and dancing, I see how breaking it down is helpful in a similar way. I have to spend most of the time working on the hard parts and then integrating them into the rest of the piece. In school, the performance could be solving an algebraic equation. There could be an element like factoring that is hard and open ended. Putting the most time and effort into factoring and then successfully working through the whole problem is just like perfect practice leading to a flawless performance.

I received my DNP from the University of Detroit Mercy.I have a wide range of nursing experience over the years. I have worked as an Emergency Room Nurse, Infection Prevention & Control, Quality/Safety & Accreditation, Management, Nursing Education Specialist , Adjunct Faculty and Clinical Instructor. I am also a CPR and First Aid instructor and board certified in Nursing Professional Development by ANCC.I am passionate about the nursing profession and patient safety. I believe that every nurse should be prepared to provide quality nursing and practice in a safe environment.I enjoy teaching nursing students who are excited to learn the profession and have the desire to succeed.
