About Me

I am a graduate Seton Hill University. I received a B.A. in Psychology and a teaching certificate which allowed me to teach Elementary K-6 and Special Education students. After graduation, I was immediately given a job teaching Middle School Special Education in my home district. My focus was ELA, so during that time I took the Praxis and added Middle School ELA to my certificate. While teaching in the brick-and-mortar setting, I took graduate courses at Seton Hill and received a Master's in Inclusive Education. I spent ample time working in after school tutoring clubs while teaching. At the end of my 9 years in the traditional setting, I decided to pursue obtaining a Reading Specialist certificate. I did this through a prestigious online school in Portland, Maine. After receiving my certificate, I made the transition to online learning as a Reading Specialist. I started my 5th year at my online school this past August. During my time here I have taught Reading Intervention to middle school students. I also spent a year working as a MTSS Coordinator where I analyzed student data and helped teachers formulate goals for their students. I also practice selling real estate and love to private tutor when I can. Needless to say, I am often short on spare time. However, I enjoy teaching students and watching them flourish. There is no greater joy than watching something "click" for a student. ELA is my passion and teaching reading and writing strategies is often my favorite thing to teach. I look forward to growing as an educator and working with new students.
