About Me

I believe that every student has potential. My job is to provide the tools and knowledge for every student so that they may reach their potential. I will seek to find the motivation of all students and provide them with the encouragement, support, and drive to explore their world through learning. I will foster respect, cooperation, critical thinking, passion, compassion, fun, and determination. As a tutor, it is my job to provide a safe, engaging, and challenging session to encourage each student's growth mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. Every student is unique in abilities, learning style, and motivations. I will strive to provide each student with the tools necessary to explore themselves and their world through knowledge. I will accomplish this by learning about each student and maintaining my own research in educational methodology and teaching techniques. I will strive to make my tutoring sessions a place of respectful fun and learning by presenting curriculum in an engaging manner. I will utilize a variety of activities and projects to re-enforce core lessons and foster creativity and cooperation. Students are also people. My tutoring sessions will be a place of learning, both academically and personally. I will maintain standards and help each student achieve personal goals through clear instruction, positive discipline, and organization. I will encourage each student to take responsibility for their learning while providing the support they need along the way. This will help each one become successful students, and provide them with the skills to become successful people. I believe that passion for education in the student is directly affected by the passion of the teacher. I will continue to find my passion for learning through continuing education, interaction with colleagues, the community, and parents, and learning from my students. Students are a delight in their sense of wonder and excitement about learning new things, and I hope that every day I can continue to feed that wonder and excitement. The students I come in contact with will be adults before any of us are ready. My ultimate goal is to see them off into their journey with their wonder and excitement intact, but tempered with the tools and knowledge they need to think critically, grow individually, and contribute to the community as respectful, compassionate, driven people.
