Study of data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
Probability is the study of chance. It helps us predict how likely something is to happen, from rolling dice to forecasting rain!
The probability of an event is the number of favorable outcomes divided by the total number of possible outcomes:
\[ P(\text{event}) = \frac{\text{Number of favorable outcomes}}{\text{Total outcomes}} \]
In statistics, randomness means outcomes happen by chance and can't be exactly predicted.
\[P(\text{event}) = \frac{\text{favorable outcomes}}{\text{total outcomes}}\]
The probability of flipping a coin and getting heads is 0.5.
