Study Strategies
## Narrowing Down Your Choices
The SSAT often gives tricky answer choices. Use the process of elimination to
get rid of answers you know are wrong, increasing your odds of finding the right one.
- Cross out choices that are clearly incorrect.
- If you’re stuck, compare the remaining options closely.
- Don’t leave blanks—guess if needed!
This strategy works for synonyms, analogies, and reading questions.
Examples
- Eliminate answers that don’t make sense in the sentence.
- Cross out analogy pairs that have a different relationship than the original.
