About Me

I have taught many students: Kindergarten reading and writing, 1st-grade reading and writing, 2nd-grade reading and writing, 2nd-grade ESL/ELL, 3rd-grade reading, writing and math, 4th-grade reading, writing, math, and ESL/ELL, 5th-grade reading and writing, 6th-grade reading and writing, 7th-grade Spanish and 7th-grade reading and writing. I also teach ESL/ELL to a 10th grader. I very much enjoy working with the students I have now. In total, as of January of 2024, I work with 17 students. Some of these are school assignments. I have a class of five 5th graders and several students who have been recommended by the schools they attend. I also work with individuals whose parents have selected me to work with their children. I have a couple of clients who have been with me for six months. I have a master's degree in Spanish and taught Spanish for 13 years. Of course, I am fluent! I studied literacy education for two years at the doctoral level at Kent State University. I have classroom experience in literacy education and have done research related to Spanish speaking students and their attitudes toward writing. I am grateful to Varsity Tutors for the opportunities that they have given me. I truly enjoy teaching!
