About Me

Intro: I have a BA and MA in Communication Studies, a cumulative 5 years of tutoring experience across multiple subjects and ages, and 3 years of teaching experience at the collegiate level. I previously tutored with the renowned Sylvan Learning Center and have volunteered as a tutor at multiple after-school programs. I also worked as a tutor in my undergraduate Communication Laboratory for about three years helping students with all aspects of presentations. I'm currently halfway through an MFA in Creative Writing at The New School. I'm very passionate about language arts and the humanities, but have experience tutoring in math, science, reading, literacy, and ACT prep from kindergarten through college. Public Speaking: I have over 25 years of public speaking experience both as a competitor, performer, academic, and instructor and can help with any presentation questions you may have. I taught Public Speaking for three years at the collegiate level and competed in statewide forensics tournaments for nearly ten years. I'm happy to help beginner to advanced public speakers outline or polish presentations. Writing: I have presented original research more than 25 times at conferences around the country and wrote a thesis for both my undergraduate and masters thesis. I'm highly comfortable with academic and creative writing and would love to help you with outlining, proofreading, brainstorming, editing, or whatever other writing questions you might have. Outside of tutoring, I write and review young adult fiction and work as a freelance journalist in the book community. I'd love to talk with your more about your writing projects.
