About Me

My academic record as a Business Administration major with a Finance Concentration, a Philosophy minor, at Washington and Lee University illustrate my ability to tutor enterprising students. I myself have demonstrated the ability to manage large workloads under strict timelines in the context of a rigorous curriculum, and I am compelled to share my knowledge and techniques with younger students. In college, I was the proud recipient of the H.J. Heinz Corporation Scholarship; a full-tuition award complete with 2 internships, given to outstanding academic leaders. I chose to go to Washington and Lee, however, I was accepted into seven other prestigious schools: Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, Kenyon College, Albion College, and Colby College. Through my involvement on the Varsity Men's Basketball team in college and with various University Groups/Clubs, I have learned the importance of balance, sacrifice, and gained confidence; working in highly competitive environments that require teamwork. Making the transition from growing up in Lansing, Michigan to studying at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia has allowed me to develop greater independence and cultural awareness while learning to cope with the constant ambiguity of overcoming cultural barriers and other challenges. My in-depth study of Philosophy, in conjunction with the distinguished Honor System established at Washington and Lee University, has reinforced the importance of ethics, integrity, and responsibility. My Philosophical studies have also advanced my ability to rationalize complex information and ideas in order to make the necessary calculated and logical decisions. These experiences and attributes will make me an excellent tutor and academic mentor for students. Currently, I mentor high school students in business and entrepreneurship. Mentoring and tutoring students is very fulfilling to me.
