After three days of heavy rain, the river near our town rose quickly. Because the ground was already soaked, the water could not sink in. It rushed over sidewalks and into storm drains. As a result, the river collected more water than usual and flowed faster. The current pushed against the banks, and muddy water spilled into nearby fields. Therefore, the city closed the walking path and warned people to stay away. When the sun returned, the water level slowly dropped. The flood happened because too much rain fell in a short time, and the land could not absorb it.

A raisin begins as a grape on a vine. Harvest season starts when the grapes are sweet. First, workers clip bunches and lay the grapes on drying trays. The trays are carried to sunny rows between the vines. Warm air and sunlight remove water from the grapes. After several days, the grapes wrinkle and turn into raisins. The raisins are gathered, cleaned, and sorted. The raisins are packed into boxes and shipped to stores. Each step happens in order so the raisins dry evenly and stay safe to eat.
