(1) Last Saturday, my neighborhood organized a cleanup day at the big park by the library. (2) I signed up with two friends because we wanted to make the playground safer and more welcoming. (3) The bags of trash was scattered behind the bleachers and near the creek. (4) We also found broken glass under the swings, which was dangerous for younger kids who might run without looking. (5) After we picked up litter, we painted over the graffiti on the benches and scraped old stickers off the slide. (6) The basketball court had weeds growing through the cracks, so we pulled them and swept the surface. (7) Everyone worked together, and by noon the park looked brighter. (8) The experience taught me that even small efforts can make a big difference, and I plan to return next month to plant flowers.
