Young Kyoung holds a Master's degree in British and American Language and Culture and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and English Linguistics, both from Kyung Hee University in Korea, where she is also a certified teacher. With over five years of experience teaching English in Korea, Young Kyoung brings a rich linguistic background and a deep appreciation for cross-cultural communication to her work as a Korean tutor.
Young Kyoung's teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive, engaging environment where every student feels confident and curious. She tailors her methods to each learner's individual needs and goals — whether a student is pursuing Korean for professional purposes or simply wants to listen, read, and speak for everyday life. For students who discovered Korean through their love of K-pop, K-dramas, or Korean culture, she weaves those interests directly into the learning experience, making language acquisition natural, meaningful, and fun.
Korean is one of the most rewarding languages you can pick up — and this 6-week beginner course gives you a real, functional start. Designed for adults with little to no prior experience, Introduction to Korean gets you speaking, reading, and navigating the language in the situations that matter most: traveling, socializing, and moving through everyday Korean-speaking environments with confidence. You'll learn to hold basic conversations, decode street signs and transit displays, and build the kind of solid foundation that makes continued study feel achievable rather than overwhelming. If you've been putting off learning Korean, this is exactly where to begin.
