4.1
Master all six trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, cotangent) and apply SOH CAH TOA fluently to solve right triangles
Navigate the unit circle with confidence — reading coordinates, converting between degrees and radians, and evaluating trig values for common angles from memory
Solve trigonometric equations algebraically, including finding all solutions by accounting for periodicity and multiple rotations
Apply the Law of Sines and Law of Cosines to non-right triangles, including handling the ambiguous SSA case
Use inverse trigonometric functions (arcsin, arccos, arctan) to recover angle measures from known ratios
Simplify and perform arithmetic operations on rational expressions, including identifying variable restrictions
Determine horizontal, vertical, and slant asymptotes of rational functions and use polynomial long division to find linear asymptote equations
Graph rational functions completely by combining asymptote analysis, intercepts, and key behavior

Given his status as an Eagle Scout, it’s only understandable that Ethan has a passion for helping students “always be prepared” for their next high stakes exam. After all, that philosophy earned him a 1550 on the SAT and perfect 5 on eleven AP exams, and continues to serve him well as a Presidential Scholarship winner at the University of Florida and as a Varsity Tutors instructor.
Precalculus Fundamentals is the year-round supplemental class for high school students who are serious about truly owning the material — not just passing it. While school moves at a fixed pace and tests come and go, this class gives driven students the space to build the kind of deep, durable mastery of precalculus that pays dividends in calculus, on standardized tests, and in every advanced math course ahead. Students work through the core pillars of precalculus — trigonometric functions, the unit circle, Laws of Sines and Cosines, rational expressions, and asymptote analysis — with the depth and repetition that a packed school schedule rarely allows. This is the strategic move that separates students who truly know precalculus from those who only think they do.
