Meet Nicole.

Nicole
As a career counselor at NYU, Nicole has worked with employers and students to identify the skills employers want most and students need the most help developing. Unsurprisingly, the answer to both is Artificial Intelligence, so Nicole has developed AI training programs for NYU students that she's brought to the Varsity Tutors platform, where she helps learners master AI skills to succeed in the classroom, in the job search process, and in their careers.
The job market moves fast — and AI tools are now one of the most powerful assets a job seeker can have, if they know how to use them. AI for Job Search & Networking is a practical, action-oriented course for adults who are actively job hunting, considering a career pivot, or simply want to future-proof their professional positioning. You'll use AI to build tailored resumes and cover letters, research employers with precision, simulate and prepare for interviews, and develop the kind of AI fluency that signals to employers you're ready for today's workplace. You'll leave with better documents, a sharper strategy, and genuine confidence in your ability to compete.
The Job Search Has Changed — Your Tools Should Too
The job market has always been competitive. Now it's also faster, more automated, and more data-driven than ever — and candidates who understand how to use AI are operating at a different level. This course isn't about replacing your expertise or personality with AI output; it's about using AI to handle the time-consuming, grinding parts of a job search faster and better, so you can spend your energy on the parts that actually require you.
Resumes and Cover Letters That Actually Land
The single biggest use of AI in job searching is materials tailoring. A generic resume sent to 50 jobs is far less effective than a thoughtfully tailored one sent to 10 — and AI makes tailoring fast. Students learn to use AI to analyze job descriptions, identify the specific language and qualifications employers are looking for, and produce materials that genuinely speak to each opportunity rather than to the position in general.
Research, Interview Prep, and Competitive Intelligence
Getting the interview is only half the battle. Students learn to use AI to research employers deeply — company culture, recent news, strategic priorities — so they walk into every conversation informed and confident. They also practice using AI as an interview simulation partner: running through common and behavioral questions, receiving feedback on their answers, and refining their delivery until responses are sharp and authentic.
Networking at Scale — Without Losing the Human Touch
Effective networking is one of the most underused job search tools — and one of the most time-consuming. AI can help draft outreach messages, prepare for informational interviews, and keep you in touch with contacts in a way that's personal but efficient. Students develop a strategic networking system that uses AI to handle the logistics so they can focus on the actual conversations.
AI Fluency as a Professional Differentiator
In most industries, knowing how to use AI tools effectively is now itself a valued competency. Students in this course don't just get a better job search — they develop and can speak to a skill that employers are actively looking for. Walking into an interview able to discuss how you use AI in your daily work is a differentiator that has real value, and this course helps you build and articulate exactly that.
