Previously: Elon University (BA in English, 2013), University of Florida (Juris Doctor, 2016).After practicing as an attorney for roughly a year-and-a-half after graduating law school, I realized that my true passion was for teaching, and am now back in school to pursue it as a career. I tutor a wide variety of subjects, most of which fall into one of three broad categories: writing, English, and test preparation. I profoundly enjoy tutoring in all of these categories, but as an English major, admit to something of a soft spot for that subject.My goal as a tutor is to put my students in good position to make sustainable, long-term improvements in whatever subject we're working on. Communication and collaboration are key for me; I'm a firm believer that tutoring is most effective when both parties know exactly what they're doing, and why they're doing it.Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exercising, creative writing, and overly competitive board gaming.

I am a teacher in the St. Louis area who loves helping others understand difficult math and business concepts. I am state certified to teach middle school mathematics and have extensive experience with Common Core Standards in middle school mathematics. I am in my third year of teaching, so I have experience with an array of methods of teaching both in general as well as explaining and instructing students on specific skills. From my experience, I have learned that students learn best when they understand big concepts, so I constantly try to show students how big concepts tie into real world experiences that they care about. I have been doing small group tutoring for over two years now with students at my school and prefer to tutor in the areas of math and test prep. I draw on my undergraduate degree in finance and my master's degree in middle school mathematics in order to help clients understand concepts in deep meaningful ways. When I am not teaching, I like finding new restaurants, traveling, and hanging out with my dog.

I also have a Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in Mathematics from Harris-Stowe State College. I came to St. Louis from New Jersey on a full 4 year basketball scholarship to Saint Louis University. I have been a college Mathematics Instructor for 20+ years. I have taught Mathematics online for 4+ years and I have tutored students in all levels of Mathematics for 20+ years. I am quite passionate about math and basketball. My 2 favorite topics to talk about. Although I like all sports and am an avid Cardinals and Blues fan as well.

I am a graduate of the University of Central Missouri State University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Education k-8. Since graduation, I received a Masters of Science in teaching Science 7-12, at Webster University in Saint Louis, Mo. I also received a certification in Special Reading k-12 and Principalship k-8, at Webster University. I have taught and tutored students reading from different educational, cultural, racial economic, geographic backgrounds, in school and in their homes. I helped these students to prepare for their states' Standardized Test. I am a talented educator with proven experience in reading recovery, special reading, science education, and IN structural coaching for new and veteran teachers. My key competencies are student-centered orientation, facilitator of the learning process, grounded instructional practices based on the analysis of students needs and creating a context conducive to students' learning. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and going to stage plays.

I am certified to teach by the state of Missouri. Since graduating from UMSL in 2011, I have worked for St. Louis County Special School District as an ABA therapist and teacher's aide. My experience with student teaching and subsequent career as an ABA and aide have allowed me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students of various ages, from elementary through post-high school. My philosophy of education is that I believe all people are capable of learning. I practice this philosophy by meeting students at their level of educational need and focusing on their individual learning styles and interests, while utilizing a multiple modality approach. The main focuses of my tutoring are English and composition, which, besides being necessary life skills in our society, are subjects I am passionate about. It's a joy to watch students learn to express their thoughts and ideas using organizational strategies. I'm a strong proponent of lifelong learning, and I try to share my enthusiasm with my students, as I believe enthusiasm for learning is the key to educational success, not only in school but beyond into the real world. In my free time I enjoy reading literature and nonfiction, writing, exercising, and composing and playing music.

I chose tutoring because I myself was a student who needed outside help to fully understand fun, yet challenging subjects. I am a native Spanish speaker and growing up in the United States made it difficult to retain the language. In college I sought to challenge myself and take Spanish classes, to further my knowledge of my native language. After finishing the required grammar classes and literature classes at Saint Louis University, I found myself reading difficult works of art by authors like Jorge Luis Borges, Miguel Cervantes, and contemporary authors such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Challenging as it was, the rewarding feeling after taking these courses made me aware of my passion to help student with similar struggles. I enjoy transferring that passion to overcome difficult subjects and to get students excited about the subject! I love the idea of working with different backgrounds and hope to use different approaches to create a good fit of teaching strategy.

I am a MPH student and recently graduate Washington University in St. Louis with a BA Neuroscience and Spanish. While I primarily work as an EMT and do research related to mental health. I have previous experience tutoring a variety of subjects including high-school physics and english. Although my favorite subjects to tutor would be Spanish, Math, and Study Skills. I am a firm advocate for student success and that stems from an appreciation of the challenges presented through traditional education. I try to instill these values and life skills to all my students. In my free time I work on my photography, read heaps of books, and participate in the lovely game of Water Polo.
