About Me

I graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI in 2014 with majors in art and biology. I spent a considerable amount of time volunteering as a tutor for kids of all ages, including those with special needs. I love finding ways to make difficult concepts digestible and (if possible) fun. I haven't forgotten what it's like to be a student; I used to hate math, and in high school my grades were barely passable. The key to learning and succeeding is not only to have a desire to learn, but to have a teacher that can match your learning style. I like to take time to get to know who I'm working with so that I can build a bond and match my abilities to my students' needs. I'm also pretty funny. A student who is laughing along with me is much more likely to be engaged than one who's bored the whole time!
